I think these videos are so great that I just want to keep them up front and center, so I may promote them occasionally. Here they are again!
This is the campaign to defeat Obama, in a nutshell.
I watched them all. Obama supporters may complain about interpretations, but these videos do not have a factual error I can see. They’re quite concise, delivered engagingly, and make their point very clearly.
The McCain campaign should take a lesson from these people.

I hate to use the “S” word, but the American government would never do something as, well, socialist as seize private pension funds, right? This is exactly what cash-strapped Argentina just did in the name of protecting workers’ retirement accounts (Efharisto, Fausta’s Blog). Now, even Uncle Sam isn’t that stupid, but some Democrats might try something almost as loopy: kill 401(k) plans.

We can tolerate some redistribution. Government always does some of it. But it is toxic for economies, because it distorts markets, which means it distorts production that sells to those markets. Nevertheless, some toxicity is tolerable (medicine is toxic, too, after all, in a good cause), and governments seem unable to resist the temptation to pick winners and losers.
But as with most toxic things (medicines as well as simple poisons), there are 4 dosage ranges.

The Drudge Report is running a story about three newspapers having been kicked off the Obama campaign plane for the last 72 hours of the race— the Dallas Morning News, the NY Post, and the Washington Times, all of which endorsed McCain on their editorial pages.

As the scale of the economic crisis becomes clear and comparisons to the Great Depression of the 1930s are tossed around, there is a very real danger that America could succumb to the feeling that we no longer have the luxury of worrying about distant lands, now that we are confronted with a “real” problem that actually affects the lives of all Americans. As we consider whether various bailout plans help Main Street as well as Wall Street, the subtext is that both are much more important to Americans than Haifa Street.
One problem with this emotion is that it ignores the sequel to the Great Depression — the rise of militaristic Japan marked by the 1931 invasion of Manchuria, and Hitler’s rise to power in Germany in 1933, both of which resulted in part from economic dislocations spreading outward from the U.S. The inward-focus of the U.S. and the leading Western powers (Great Britain and France) throughout the 1930s allowed these problems to metastasize, ultimately leading to World War II.
Is it possible that American inattention to the world in the coming years could lead to a similarly devastating result? You betcha.
The major media have lulled us into a soft sense of security that if only we elect a hopey/changey therapist in chief that we’ll somehow be safer, because he’ll take really good care of us at home, and talk those mean people elsewhere into being nicer.
History says otherwise, bluntly. Our descendants will study this era, and perhaps they will say, “What were they thinking?” Remember how you have felt when reading about the run up to NAZI Germany’s wars, and the feckless response it received from Europe (and the USA)? It’s a bit like watching a horror movie you’ve seen before, and saying to the soon-to-be-victim on screen, “No! No! Don’t open that door!” You know what’s about to happen, and yet you watch with a sick fascination, almost suspending disbelief, as if it could turn out differently this time.
But we’re about to open the door ourselves, this time.

I haven’t agreed with Pat Buchanan about everything, not by a long shot, but in this article, he succinctly lists the likely outcome of the first year of an Obama presidency. This is not wild-eyed speculation. Rather, it’s all based on specific statements, plans, platforms, resolutions, agendas, etc., of the Democrat Party. If you haven’t heard about some of this, it’s because you haven’t been paying attention, and are lulled by the main-stream media. Every bit of it is documented as the intent of Democrat politicians now in national office, and those running for it. An Obama presidency and a filibuster proof Democrat Senate guarantees that most of what you read below the fold will happen.

In the movie, Independence Day, the aliens want the earth. They don’t want to negotiate, they can’t be bargained with, and they are deadly in capabilities and intentions. A lot like Islamic extremists, among other threats to international amity.
There is an arresting scene in the movie, taking place on a rooftop just beneath the levitating alien spacecraft, upon which stand all the wide-eyed innocents who think the universe is a friendly place, despite pleny of hints that the aliens are up to no good. We are treated to a view of the welcoming throng, looking upward with shining faces, waiting to make the acquaintance of the aliens, in a manner somewhat reminiscent of scenes from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Peace on Earth isn’t exactly what the aliens have in mind.
Now, look a little more closely at the people on the roof. Do you see the guy on the left, with the open mouth? Now look at the snappy, elegant patent leather shoe, just visible past the mouth breather’s left shoulder. Look familiar? Well, as we all know, Obama has lots of friends in the Hollywood Left (that being most of Hollywood, of course). I can now reveal that Obama has appeared in movies for years, in extra roles (probably hoping that by being an actor he could become President). The problem, of course, is that actors have to actually memorize their lines, and can’t just read them from teleprompters. So, Obama’s roles have all been non-speaking walk-ons. Yes, friends, that is Obamas LEFT FOOT in the classy shoe. (It figures….)
Obama famously said he would negotiate without preconditions with pretty much anyone at all, regardless of their stated ill intent towards us or our allies. When Russia attacked Georgia, he responded,
“I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict,” Obama said in a statement. “Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid an escalation to full-scale war. Georgia’s territorial integrity must be respected.”
This is lovely. So, when Nazi Germany invaded Poland, Obama would have “condemned the outbreak of violence in Poland”? Called for German and Polish restraint? Oy vey, others parsed this, but it’s still frightening to think the free world’s leader may be so feckless. Obama is the very master of passive voice. Reading his comments, you can’t tell who invaded whom.
Let’s hope this is one time when life does not imitate art. When the USA is threatened (a guaranteed fact of life for the coming decades), let’s hope Obama is not the one with whom we are stuck for protection, wisdom and general courage in the face of adversity.
I don’t think he’ll be able to negotiate with the Borg.

Now they’re accusing Palin of making rape victims pay for their own rape kit.
At the link above, you can read all about it, and about what was omitted from the USA Today story that made the charge.
The USA Today story continues the pattern of the NYTimes, of quoting Palin enemies in Alaska, without counterbalancing perspectives, and leaving out essential facts.
