A “pro-choice” measure I can support

Category: abortionharmonicminer @ 8:18 am

Pro-Life Legislation That Truly Aids Choice

A Pro-Life legislative measure which is gaining traction throughout many of the states is commonly known as “the ultrasound bill”. Basically it is a measure aimed at aiding the decision making process of women who are considering abortion. The bill makes it a requirement for abortion clinics to give their clients the option of viewing an ultrasound of their unborn child before making the decision to go through with the abortion. If the client does not wish to see the ultrasound, they are free to sign a waiver declining their option to do so.

Choice is the operative word here in every instance. With the ability to see an ultrasound, women can now choose to avoid the situation which so many women have unjustly experienced since Roe vs. Wade, that situation being their abortion doctor telling them their child is “just a blob of cells” and believing that what they are terminating is not really human. An ultrasound definitely enhances the accuracy and completeness of information a woman takes into account while considering abortion. In addition to this the measure leaves room for any woman to choose to not view the ultrasound. No woman is forced by law to subject herself to more psychological turmoil. Also, the vast majority (82% in Florida for instance) of abortion clinics already perform an ultrasound before performing abortion procedures and include this cost in the abortion fee so complaints of the bill monetarily penalizing women are relatively unfounded.

The ultrasound bill presents itself as a measure which serves to really test if a person is truly in favor of choice or if they are simply interested in protecting unmitigated legalized abortion, as provided by Roe vs. Wade. At its heart, it seeks to help women be more accurately informed about making a decision with a dizzying amount of consequences. It cannot be painted any other way. Ultrasounds are tools which aid doctors performing medical procedures (hence why so many abortion clinics already use them!) In the end, an ultrasound doesn’t show anything except what is truly inside of the pregnant womb: a developing human life. Why would anyone claiming to be pro-choice or pro-woman have a real, fundamental issue with such a measure?

The answer to that question is very simple.

Murdering in the right place is important to protect the guilty

Category: abortionharmonicminer @ 8:47 am

I deliberate scheduled this post to come up over a week after the events that it reports. If you haven’t heard about it yet, you can ask yourself why this horrific event is not well-covered in the media. If you have heard of it, ask yourself where you did hear of it, and where you didn’t…  and why.

Girl performs at-home abortion; Polk Township man, 30, charged with rape, concealing death of child

A 30-year-old Polk Township man has been arrested for his role after a 13-year-old girl performed a self-induced abortion using a pencil. Michael James Lisk has been charged with rape and concealing the death of a child.

State police were alerted to the case on Sunday after staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital treated the girl, who said she conducted the “home abortion” on herself using a lead pencil last Wednesday.

She subsequently became violently ill and began having contractions before ultimately delivering a baby at her residence.

The girl had been in contact with Lisk while she was in labor, police said. Lisk allegedly arrived at the her residence and removed the baby in a plastic shopping bag, later burying it in a wooded area along Middle Creek Road.

The baby’s body was later discovered by a state police forensic services unit.

During their investigation, police learned that Lisk had been having a sexual relationship with the girl since June 2009. The girl believed he was the father, according to police.

Lisk was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Muth and sent to Monroe County Correctional Facility, where he is being held on $50,000 bail.

An autopsy on the baby is scheduled for later this week. The girl is still receiving medical treatment.

How can burying a dead fetus by “concealing the death of a child”? Everyone knows they aren’t “children” until they are born. Is it only a “child” because the girl didn’t manage to kill it in the womb? So, since the murder wasn’t carried out by a professional fetus killer (who has all the tools and skill necessary to do it in the womb, and the “medical” license to do so), is it now a child, worthy of legal protection?

Of course, easy access to abortion would have solved the whole problem, from the perspective of the “pro-choice“.

We all know, however, the way the law now stands, and the way abortion clinics do business, that easy access to abortion for this girl would simply have resulted in a continuation of her sexual abuse by a 30 yr old man.  And we already know that a huge percentage of “under age” girls who get pregnant are made so by men who are years older, so that easy abortion access simply protects the men, not the girls.

The completely bizarre aspect of this is that abortion clinics legally do what in any other circumstance would be called “concealing evidence of a crime”, both of sexual abuse and of killing a baby.

When was the last time you heard of someone convicted of statutory rape because an abortion clinic reported the prenancy of an underage girl to the authorities?

Genocide of Black Babies

Category: abortionharmonicminer @ 8:27 am

As Christians, we are called to Value Life and All of God’s Children. Here are some observations from Day Gardner, president of the National Black Pro-Life Union.  I wonder which major Christian university will be featuring her as a “diversity” speaker in the near future?

Today in America, we all would like to believe racism no longer exists, but that is just not the case. That fact is most evident to me every night when I turn on the evening news and hear the stories, night after night after night, about beautiful 2-year-old or 5-year-old little white girls either missing or brutally murdered. My heart breaks and aches for them and their families, beautiful children! Yet I know little black girls have disappeared or died the same horrible, tragic deaths, and the media silence regarding them is deafening!

In America, we subconsciously devalue black babies. We are tricked into thinking a black child has less value than a child of another race.

Though U.S. law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race in various contexts, including employment, education and housing, black babies are still openly targeted and discriminated against.

Where’s the proof? It’s right in front of our faces. In recent YouTube videos there were several instances where Planned Parenthood representatives were willing to accept racist donations, even to the point of being “excited” at the possibility of taking money specifically earmarked to kill a black baby.

Planned Parenthood’s eager acceptance of these donations reflect the racist and eugenic principles of its founder, Margaret Sanger. This business mainly profits from the large number of abortions it provides, 37 percent of those abortions are performed on black women. Black America needs to face reality. We need to understand what this business is really all about.

Many pro-life people refer to abortion as genocide. You may agree or disagree. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group defined by the exterminators as undesirable. It could be a racial, religious group, cultural, ethnic, or some other distinct group.

Most people find it easy to understand what genocide is as it relates to the Holocaust. To justify that genocide, Adolf Hitler and his followers did their very best to make whole races of people appear less than human. The targeted groups were deemed “undesirables” and “subhumans,” which made it easier for Hitler to carry out the killing of millions of people.

Today, the abortion industry would have all of us believe that unborn children are less than human. They make sure to only refer to these children as fetuses or embryos. They use these words to dehumanize the child. Planned Parenthood views the killing of innocent preborn babies, especially those who are black, in a very similar way. Most abortionists and abortion providers insist the child in the womb is not yet fully human. They want women and girls who walk through an abortionist’s doors to believe the child they are killing is not yet a child, as Hitler believed, it was “easier” to kill that which was not fully human.

Abortion hurts women and inflicts a horrendous and brutal death on the children. If we were talking about animals all of Hollywood and the rest of the nation would demand an immediate halt to the killing. But we’re not talking about defenseless animals here, only defenseless children.

Today, for every black baby born, another black baby is killed by abortion. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain. It has planted its clinics strategically in our urban and minority neighborhoods. This is no accident!

The Alan Guttmacher Institute and with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that a huge majority (experts estimate more than 75 percent) of abortion clinics are located in minority neighborhoods.

Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider. It raked in $1 billion last year, including more than $350 million in taxpayer funds. That’s right. Tax dollars, in part, fund an organization that gets excited about taking donations earmarked to abort black babies.

Last year, thousands of Americans lost their homes due to foreclosed loans. Many homes could have been saved with $350 million. Many of our schools, especially inner city schools, are in shambles; $350 million could have paid for more teachers, and computers and other school supplies.

We have men, women, children, and entire families living on the street. I’ve seen them, you’ve seen them, fellow Americans, destitute and homeless. And $350 million could have provided many of them housing and shelter.

Taxpayer dollars spent to support the racist agenda of Planned Parenthood could have been spent in various other ways to support and protect people in need, the homeless, elderly and unborn. Why are we forced to give our tax dollars to a racist organization that was founded to limit the numbers of Negroes in America?

For too long, our black leaders have walked with blinders on, we have ignored the screams and tears of our children being ripped from the womb. We have been guilty of looking the other way while our children were targeted for death.

But we are coming together and we realize abortion will not go away until we bring this travesty out into the light and act to protect the very lives being disregarded. The hateful agenda of Planned Parenthood must be stopped, and we as a society must not sit by and allow children to be killed.

Those of us who serve God acknowledge we are all made in his image. For us, blessed is the fruit of the womb. If God says children are a reward, a gift and our heritage, then we must uphold that all children are greatly valuable and desirable, indeed.

One year anniversary of late term abortionist’s murder

Category: abortion,media,societyharmonicminer @ 12:15 pm

One year anniversary of late-term abortionist George Tiller (the baby killer’s) death by Jill Stanek

Pro-aborts have been paying tributes and are planning memorials.

Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has read or will read a Tiller tribute statement on the Senate floor today.

For a donation of $75 the TX Equal Access Fund “will deliver a handmade card, flowers, and a basket of goodies” to your favorite abortion mill on May 31….

The George Tiller Abortion Fund has been established to subsidize late-term abortions.

At the Abortioneers blog Silky Laminaria recalled where s/he was the moment s/he learned Tiller had been killed, closing with a Tiller quote.

I’m sorry, and meaning no disrespect for the dead, but what exactly is that supposed to mean? The quote only reminds me of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey.

NARAL has made a tribute video…

Jill Stanek goes on at the link above to discuss the ridiculous commemoration of George Tiller as if he is some kind of hero, instead of a killer of babies.  It’s worth reading it all.

There are no pro-life Democrats

Neither side is happy with Stupak

We all know how Rep. Bart Stupak caved the day of the passage of the government takeover of health care. But we don’t know why.

Well, we do know why. We’ve known all along that Stupak supported ObamaCare. After getting his amendment passed to the original public option health care bill that passed the House in November, he voted for the final bill. But it is baffling to pro-lifers why he, who had the power to singlehandedly make or break health care reform, would give up all that power in the last minute for a worthless scrap of paper.

An executive order cannot change current law. They can easily be overruled by the courts, which have done so in the past. Legislation from Congress supersedes them. And an executive order can be rescinded at any time. President Obama could sign the order then revoke it 60 seconds later. If the new health care system withstands legal challenges and a possible repeal, this executive order will just become another Mexico City Policy, rescinded and reinstated whenever a new president takes office.

Stupak’s move pleases neither side of the abortion debate. The pro-life side thinks the order doesn’t go nearly far enough, and the pro-abortion side thinks it goes too far. The SBA List rescinded the Defender of Life award we were supposed to give Stupak at our gala two days ago. Other pro-life groups across the country have condemned him and are now working to defeat him instead of supporting him. Pro-abortion groups are doing the same. NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund are now backing Stupak’s primary challenger.

In an editorial to be published Saturday in the Washington Post, Stupak says, “The pro-life groups rallied behind me, many without my knowledge or consent, not necessarily because they shared my goals of ensuring protections for life and passing health-care reform but because they viewed me as their best chance to kill health-care legislation.”

Oh, yeah? Then why did pro-lifers in Congress vote in favor of the Stupak Amendment in November, thus opening the door for your group to vote for the bill and therefore pass it? And if you didn’t want pro-life groups rallying behind you, why did you accept their money and support?

Mr. Stupak, we trusted you. We thought we had found a hero, someone who was standing up for Life when it looked hopeless. And then we found out you’re just like any other politician, lying to the people to get your way. You broke our heart. And now pro-lifers are not rallying around you, but around your opponent. We’re going to do everything we can to ensure you get defeated with everyone else in November.

Actually, I think the Left is quite happy with Stupak. They got what they wanted from him, and he provided cover for Democrats from pro-life districts. In the end, he sold out to Obama and the Democrats for less than a mess of pottage.

The definition of a pro-life Democrat is someone who wants to say they are pro-life but vote for pro-abortion candidates and policies.  That’s because they think many other things are more important than ending legal abortion.  But you can’t be seriously pro-life and think that there is all that much that matters more than ending legal abortion.    So another way to describe a “pro-life” Democrat is as someone who is vaguely uncomfortable with legal abortion-on-demand, but doesn’t think it matters enough to do anything really significant about it, and certainly not enough to take any political risks for it, or risk losing on any other issue that matters more.

These days, pro-life Democrats always fold in the end, which is predictable by the fact that they caucus with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

The latest oxymoron:  pro-life Democrat.

Add it to the list of species that went extinct in the 20th century.

Gallup Polls Finding Younger Americans More Strongly Pro-Life on Abortion

The Gallup polling agency released an analysis today of its polling data going back to 1975 and it found that younger Americans are currently more strongly pro-life than middle-aged Americans. The polling results give the pro-life movement hope that public opinion will continue moving in the pro-life direction.

Looking at a combination of its polls from 2005-2009, just 24 percent of Americans between the ages of 18-29 support keeping abortion legal for any reason throughout pregnancy.

That’s less than the 26 percent of 50-64 year-olds who support all legal abortions and less than the 28 percent of 30-49 year-olds who support it. As has been the case since Roe, the oldest Americans above 65 are the most pro-life with only about 16 percent saying they support all abortions.

Looking at it another way in the 2005-2009 polls, 23 percent of 18-29 year-olds say all abortions should be illegal compared with 17 percent of those 30-49 and those 50-64. The number is even higher than those 65+, 21 percent of whom want all abortions illegal.

“As a result, 18- to 29-year-olds are now roughly tied with seniors as the most likely of all age groups to hold this position on abortion — although all four groups are fairly close in their views. This is a sharp change from the late 1970s, when seniors were substantially more likely than younger age groups to want abortion to be illegal,” Gallup noted.

Which leads to the inevitable question: if the twenty-somethings are really more pro-life than they used to be, what combination of ignorance and obfuscation led to disproportionate numbers of them voting for Obama?

One possible answer: when they are asked a direct question, they give an answer that feels good to them, but they don’t really care enough about it to affect major decisions like whom to vote for.

Polls often don’t measure how strongly people hold the views they hold, or how much it matters to them.

Astonishing Coincidence saves baby from abortion in Indianapolis

I know you’re familiar with the old saying, “God works in mysterious ways.” Please sit down and read this whole story. Our God of mystery has outdone Himself this time!
A young woman in Indianapolis, Indiana – we’ll call her Erin – woke up, saw her kids off to school, dropped her preschoolers at a friend’s house, and noticed that she was late for an appointment … at Planned Parenthood … for an abortion.
So Erin picked up her phone and called to see if she could still come in. She thought she was calling Planned Parenthood. In her haste, she dialed a wrong number.
Instead of Planned Parenthood, she got Joseph, who was answering the cell phone that’s being used by …
… get ready for this …
… 40 Days for Life in Indianapolis!
~ David Bereit, National Coordinator, 40 days for Life

Joseph took a deep breath and tried to be as calm as possible. He took Erin’s name and number and simply said that a counselor would call her back.
So Elizabeth, the counselor, called Erin. Elizabeth begged her not to hang up, and then explained that she had not reached Planned Parenthood. Asked if she was a Christian, Erin said “yes.” So Elizabeth told her God’s grace was at work in this “wrong number” situation.
So what had led Erin to the abortion center? Simply put – desperation.
She has four children, their father is in jail, she had lost her job, her electricity is about to be shut off, and she doesn’t have enough money to pay the rent.
Later, Erin arrived at Planned Parenthood with her aunt. The aunt told counselors she opposed the abortion, but Erin’s mother and sister insist it’s the best answer. They say Erin just can’t handle another child.
In the meantime, Elizabeth had spread the word about Erin’s situation. A volunteer offered to pay her electric bill. Ten others pooled their cash to pay her rent.
Eileen in Indianapolis says a local group is now working with Erin to help her find a job. “She has a lot of potential,” Eileen said, “but needs support since her mother and sister are still encouraging her to abort the baby.”
Erin has reacted with both joy and disbelief that strangers were helping her. She has called Planned Parenthood to cancel her appointment and request a refund.
Please keep Erin and her family – and all those helping her – in your prayers.
So, you see? God does work in mysterious ways. There are no coincidences … and in this case, no wrong numbers!

In honor of Black History month

Category: abortion,diversity,politics,race,societyharmonicminer @ 4:43 pm

THIS IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH

The year is 1865. The Civil War finally comes to an end and the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution officially abolishes slavery.

For awhile, things looked pretty good for freed slaves. Just a year after the Civil War ended, Congress passed the Civil Rights Act, conferring citizenship and equal rights for black people. A few months later, Congress approved the Fourteenth Amendment guaranteeing due process and equal protection under the law to all citizens.

Two years after the Civil War, in 1867, Congress passed Reconstruction Acts. The status of the Negro was the focal problem of Reconstruction. Though slavery had been abolished the white people of the South were determined to keep the Negro in his place, socially, politically, and economically. Enter the notorious “Black Codes.” These codes were regarded as a revival of slavery in disguise. The first such body of statutes was enacted in the state of Mississippi in November 1865.

That same year in Tennessee, a group of ex-Confederate soldiers formed the KKK, a group of domestic terrorists with a focused objective: to intimidate freed former slaves and their white supporters. Klan terrorism succeeded in preventing African-Americans from using their newly won rights. The Klan’s aim was to prevent African-Americans from voting, getting an education, competing for jobs and owning property.

By 1869, Congress approved the Fifteenth Amendment guaranteeing African Americans the right to vote.

Congress approved the Civil Rights Act in March of 1875 and by 1883 it was overturned. On October 15, the Supreme Court declared the Civil Rights Act of 1875 unconstitutional. The court declared that the Fourteenth Amendment forbids states, but not citizens from practicing discrimination.

From 1870 to 1895, many blacks gained elective office throughout the Nation, but outbreaks of violence against blacks in the South became more and more common.

It wasn’t long before America’s cities were over-flowing with former slaves and their extended families. They were migrating north to seek employment opportunities in industrial cities and to escape racism, and violence. The Great Migration from the south to north began around 1915. More than 4 million blacks, former farmers and field workers became bell hops, butlers, maids, doormen, cooks, and nannies–they shined shoes and cleaned toilets. They attended schools—many started businesses or became teachers and by 1920, African American writers, poets and artists emerged in a period of creativity known as the Harlem Renaissance. Black people started to realize the American Dream came not only in white–but black and shades of gray, as well.

Meanwhile, the KKK was raging a lynching war on Negroes in the south and Margaret Sanger and friends were devising an evil plan of their own. She was a staunch believer in eugenic controls to enforce what she called “race hygiene.” She associated with known racists and in 1926 she was the guest speaker at a Ku Klux Klan rally in Silverlake, New Jersey.

In Margaret Sanger’s book The Pivot of Civilization, (published 1922), she also called for the elimination of “human weeds,” for the segregation of “morons, misfits, and maladjusted,” and for the sterilization of “genetically inferior races.

In 1939, Sanger’s NEGRO PROJECT was initiated. The plan was simple-get rid of black people. Kill them off by limiting the growth of the population by abortion and sterilization

She knew that some blacks would figure out their sinister plot so it was decided by Sanger to take the plan to the clergy and charismatic members the black community to have them deliver the death message to their congregations.

In a letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble Sanger stated, “We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. And the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

Notice that Sanger said the ministers should be “hired.” There are many black ministers, politicians and community organizers today who support abortion, Sanger’s form of ethnic cleansing–most of them are still “hired.” They have sold their souls for “30 pieces of silver.”

Margaret Sanger went on to become the founder of Planned Parenthood an organization that makes most of its blood money by killing children—especially black children.

Abortion providers are still being located for the most part in black neighborhoods and are still delivering the same old message–that black, poor children, living in urban areas–are not worthy of life. America would be a better place without black people.

The KKK brutally killed about 3500 black people since it began in 1865—Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood is responsible for the more than 17 million black deaths since 1973.

Every day more than 5000 babies are slaughtered by the blades of the abortion butchers—decapitated, ripped apart…killed.

How can America say we are better than the regimes of the Holocaust, Darfur, Sudan or China if we allow the butchering of America’s innocent children to continue?

This is Black History Month. Let’s remember why the killing began and then vow in Jesus’ name to end it…
