The satirist at his dyspeptic best.
A look back in remorse on the conservative opportunity that was squandered.
Read it all. You won’t agree with this or that, but it’s hard to deny a great deal of it.
I have only one addition: the Left is bound to blow it, too, though the kind of damage the Left can do is much harder to undo.

Thanks for the heads-up. What a great article…and funny too. He is dead right on nearly every front (perhaps every front for that matter). We have no one to blame but ourselves. I have said all along that we (Republicans/Conservatives) should do a much better job of laying out our principles, strategies and THEN tactics…not the other way around. It would force us to first, make sure we all agree to what our principles actually are, then second and third, develop strategies and tactics that are consistent with those principles. I guess it’s just too much fun to go right to tactics. Speaking as a businessman with some experience developing strategies and tactics, it never works to go straight to tactics. Yes, it takes less effort and it’s more fun…BUT IT DOESN’T WORK!!! Maybe the broad population wouldn’t take the time to listen and understand. But you know what, I spent a lifetime helping to craft advertising that communicated an idea as complicated as, say, an iPhone in all of 30 seconds. I think we could probably do this if we just tried a little harder. Our party has four years to get its act (and a decent candidate) together. Let’s hope they figure this part out. They should start by reading this article!
